this book ("pleasure boating") from 1977 depicts men everywhere someone is repairing or rigging a boat, but a woman sewing.
i'm quite proud of my improvements with the sewing machine, and see no reason to involve a woman for that. but i would not attempt any repairs on the boat without involving my SO. she rocks in the garage. and guess what? i don't feel threatened. :-D
Yay! Sounds like boating books are a bit like handyman stuff. There's even a hint in the name LOL
