As you can see above, win 7 was actually the best windows version so far. there is no comparison. It's almost as stable as linux ;-) I think win 8 will be a mess...
My home is windows free. My work laptop runs the corporate windows partition in VirtualBox (in unity mode) so I can access LiveMeeting (soon to be replaced with cisco/tandberg videoconferencing - with yabber support!), outlook (evolution is almost there with the ews plugin...) and lync (pidgin/empathy/telepathy don't support the video/voice part)
Win 7 is after my own experience very good. I have not had any problems so far that would make me think win 7 is bad.
I have by now had win 8 for a couple of days and so far win 8 is just win 7 with more possibilities and greater performance.
I have also had win Vista, and I would rather have Mac OS than Vista.. And I really dislike Mac OS, but I dislike it because I don't know how to use it. Vista on the other hand is just not working.
I much prefer vista over windows 7, find win 7 too dumbed down.
SvarSlettI jumped ship on #Vista , going from #WinXP to #ubuntu . Had to learn many things anew, but when #Win7 came along I felt I did the right thing.
